Sergio Ospina Romero, Assistant Professor of Music (Musicology), edited and published the volume El sonido que seremos, a collection of essays on Colombian music written by a vast array of cutting-edge researchers. It reflects multiple perspectives, approaches, and knowledge on national, regional, and foreign music, as well as cultured, sacred, academic, popular, commercial, indigenous, Afro-Colombian, Creole, classical, contemporary, insurgent, and emancipatory music. It studies their modes of creation, reproduction, and preservation, as well as the academic and governmental institutions that have been created around them, taking into account that music is a situated practice, emerging in diverse social, economic, and political contexts, and that it uniquely expresses the identity and social life of Colombia.
